Quote

"I wish more KAMs knew about this program. Bringing up CIRQU with my sustainability-minded client helped me engage them and strengthened my relationship with them. It helped my client work toward their sustainability goals."

What is CIRQU?

CIRQU is a PepsiCo initiative that helps your customer turn recyclable materials into measurable environmental impact.

It’s FREE for eligible PepsiCo customers.

CIRQU aims to close the loop by returning recyclable plastic and aluminum to PepsiCo's supply chain, helping to advance circularity.

CIRQU Recycling Process Loop

How it works

Step 1: Client onboarding
1

Replenysh team onboards the client and they receive free super-sacks

Replenysh is the company that operates the program. All we need from you is the client's basic contact information and address and we'll drop off the free super-sack containers within a week.

Step 2: Guest recycling
2

Guests recycle in front-of-house bins

Most properties already have bins, but guest-facing bins may be provided to eligible PepsiCo customers upon request.

Step 3: Staff sorting
3

Staff sorts materials into super-sacks

Staff brings bags from guest facing bins to the back-of-house area and sorts the material into super-sacks by material type. CIRQU provides sorting instruction packets and training support.

Step 4: Schedule pickup
4

Schedule a pickup through the app

Once super-sacks are full, staff or manager can schedule a pickup through the Replenysh app and materials are hauled away.

Step 5: Impact reporting
5

Client shares impact report data

Custom impact report page will get updated at the end of the month with total amount recycled, carbon emissions reduced, and breakdown of material type.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does this program cost?

The program is fully sponsored by PepsiCo, so there’s currently no cost for clients to participate.

How much extra work is it for clients?

Its not much extra work for the housekeeping staff. They need to bring the bags from guest facing bins to the BOH area and sort the material into super-sacks by material type (aluminum, PET, and glass). The CIRQU team takes care of the rest.

How long has CIRQU been around at PepsiCo?

CIRQU has been in operation since 2021.

How is this different from traditional recycling?

Traditional recycling often doesn’t provide transparency on how much is collected or what happens to those materials. With CIRQU, the process is trackable, and materials are directed back into manufacturer supply chains whenever possible. You can view this information in your impact report.

What materials can clients collect?

CIRQU program accepts aluminum cans and PET #1 bottles.

Is staff training on sorting provided?

Yes, the property will receive training materials with their super-sack drop off in both English and Spanish to explain how sorting works. Properties have found it easy and straightforward.

What materials will be provided to the client?

When the CIRQU/Replenysh team onboards the client, after understanding their storage capacity and materials they typically collect, they will provide the training materials, supersacks, bins, labels and guest facing bins.

Whats the difference between customer front-facing bins and back-of-house storage containers?

Front-facing bins are provided by the client for visitors to dispose of materials and sort recyclables (option for PepsiCo to help co-brand them). Back-of-house containers are provided by the CIRQU team to store materials until pickup.

What is CIRQU vs Replenysh?

PepsiCo partners with a company called Replenysh that operates the PepsiCo CIRQU program. Refer to the program as CIRQU with your clients.
